We responded to support people in Tanzania with emergency shelter after severe flooding in 2020.

We also responded there in 2015 to help people displaced by conflict.

Where is Tanzania?

Tanzania is in eastern Africa. It shares borders with Uganda and Kenya to the north. Mozambique, Malawi and Zambia are to the south. The Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi and Rwanda are to the west. The eastern coastline is on the Indian Ocean.

Tanzania covers a range of climates, from tropics to mountains. It has two seasons of rainfall each year. It is thought that climate change is making more severe rainfall and intense dry spells more likely. These can lead to flooding or droughts respectively.
