We responded to support people with emergency shelter in Vanuatu after Cyclone Harold struck in 2020.

We also worked there after Cyclone Pam in 2015.

Where is Vanuatu?

Vanuatu is formed of several islands in the south Pacific Ocean. Other islands nearby include the Solomon Isles, Fiji and New Caledonia. The islands are off the east coast of Australia.

Vanuatu has a tropical marine climate, with generally warm temperatures. Being in the Pacific Ocean, the islands can be impacted by cyclones. There are also several active volcanoes in the islands, and earthquakes are experienced. Vanuatu is thought to be very vulnerable to the climate crisis.
