Haiti is in the Caribbean. On its eastern border is the Dominican Republic. On all other borders it is surrounded by the Caribbean Sea. Nearby islands are Cuba and Jamaica.
Haiti’s position in the Caribbean sea makes it vulnerable to hurricanes. Hurricane season is between June and November each year. Haiti also lies on a tectonic fault line, making it susceptible to earthquakes.
