We have responded to support people with emergency shelter after an earthquake in 2021.

We also worked there after hurricanes in 2016 and 2012, and in response to an earthquake in 2010.

Where is Haiti?

Haiti is in the Caribbean. On its eastern border is the Dominican Republic. On all other borders it is surrounded by the Caribbean Sea. Nearby islands are Cuba and Jamaica.

Haiti’s position in the Caribbean sea makes it vulnerable to hurricanes. Hurricane season is between June and November each year. Haiti also lies on a tectonic fault line, making it susceptible to earthquakes.
