Ladies tip their hats to ShelterBox at Newquay Golf Club

Newquay Golf Club Ladies members held a tribute to Ascot Ladies’ Day on 16 June in aid of ShelterBox.

Following a hazardous windy and rainy day of golf, the ladies donned traditional Ascot Ladies’ Day hats and finery in order to watch the prestigious horse race at the club house.

Lady Golf Club Captain, Pauline O’Shea, hosted the event where a talk was given by ShelterBox speaker Roger Jeff followed by a Q&A about ShelterBox’s work.

The ladies then took part in a ‘finest hat’ competition which was won by a lady sporting a ShelterBox hat which featured a miniature ShelterBox tent.

The hats were then auctioned off raising over £300 for disaster relief.

Pauline O’Shea, whose son, Johnny O’Shea recently qualified as a ShelterBox Response Team member, plans to continue fundraising for ShelterBox during her role as Ladies’ Club Captain over the coming year.
