Aston Martin and Prodrive chairman visits ShelterBox headquarters
Aston Martin and Prodrive chairman visits ShelterBox headquarters David Richards with ShelterBox UK General Manager, Tim Bunting.

Long-standing ShelterBox supporter David Richards, chairman of Aston Martin and Prodrive, recently visited the ShelterBox headquarters in Helston, Cornwall.

David was given a tour of the warehouse allowing him to see how ShelterBoxes are packed and also spoke to ShelterBox about the process of providing families who lose their homes and belongings due to a disaster with shelter, warmth and dignity.

Founded in 1913, Aston Martin is one of the world’s best-known luxury car brands.  In 1998 the company was presented with the Queen’s Award for Export, recognising the contribution of the firm to the UK economy.

After a career as a professional rally co-driver, David created Prodrive in 1984. Prodrive is one of the world's largest and most successful motorsport and vehicle technology businesses with annual sales of around £100 million and employs 700 staff in the UK, India, China and Australia.

David was also previously the team principal of the BAR and Benneton Formula One motor racing teams.

Tim Bunting, ShelterBox UK General Manager, said: ‘We were delighted to show David around the ShelterBox headquarters as we are always looking to develop our relationships with our supporters. Without them, the work that we do delivering disaster relief around the world would not be possible.’
