Students’ relay around Cornwall coastline for ShelterBox
Students at the Cornwall campus of University of Exeter are busy planning their second annual Rally 4 ShelterBox. Teams will complete a 230 miles endurance circuit of the Cornish coastline in a series of relay legs using only man-power, be it jogging, swimming, cycling, walking, kayaking or sailing.
The event takes place over the weekend of the 16 and 17 June but the team of students have also been holding a series of events and activities both on and off Tremough Campus, Falmouth, to raise funds and awareness for ShelterBox’s disaster relief work worldwide amongst the students and the local community. Last year Rally 4 ShelterBox raised £4,700 and they are hoping to do the same, or better, this year.
Rally 4 ShelterBox coordinator Mark Nunn tells us why they chose to support ShelterBox: 'As a group of active Geography students, we all share a keen interest in natural disasters and other conflicts that occur around the world. We chose to support ShelterBox as they offer help to those affected and their speed of response is something that always amazes us.'
