Help families in need this Big ShelterBox Week!
Help families in need this Big ShelterBox Week!

ShelterBox UK has today launched Big ShelterBox Week 2012 – a fundraising and awareness week for families in need.

From 9 – 16 June thousands of ShelterBox supporters around the world are getting involved by organising their own Big Cake Bake, Big Camp Out or Big Clear Out events in their local communities.

Tim Bunting, ShelterBox UK General Manager, said: ‘Big ShelterBox Week is fast approaching and now is the time to start planning how you and your community are going to be involved! Anyone can take part and support ShelterBox in whatever way you like, the main thing is don't do nothing, do something!

‘Our website will be updated with free resources and handy hints and tips from industry professionals to help you plan your event. You can also follow us on Twitter and Facebook to find out about events happening locally. All the money and awareness raised will help us achieve our vital aim of giving displaced families shelter, warmth and dignity following disaster.’

Behind the Scenes "Cake Tours"!

As a special treat for cake-loving supporters, the ShelterBox UK team is inviting people to attend Big ShelterBox Week Cake Warehouse Tours. The twice daily behind the scenes tours of ShelterBox headquarters run from 11 – 15 June.

They will be led by ShelterBox experts who will be on hand to answer any questions from visitors about delivering aid, ShelterBox contents and where their donation is spent.

Tea and home-made cakes will then be available for a donation in reception afterwards.

Places are limited to 20 people per tour so you are advised to book your place soon to avoid disappointment.
