ShelterBox have recognised the Rotary Club of Isles of Scilly with a prestigious Gold award. The Gold, Silver and Bronze awards are a way of saying thank you to Rotary clubs all over Great Britain for their fundraising efforts.
The Rotary Club of Isles of Scilly have raised over £50,000 for disaster relief, helping ShelterBox to continue delivering rapid shelter and hope to families who are affected by disasters worldwide. They have raised the vital funds through various events and collections including a display at St Mary’s heliport that has proven to be very successful.
This achievement means that the Isles of Scilly has now raised more money relative to their population than any other district in the United Kingdom.

It was recently announced that ShelterBox and Rotary International have formed a project partner agreement. The formalisation of this partnership cements a 12-year relationship providing emergency shelter and life-saving humanitarian aid for hundreds of thousands of families around the world, who have been made homeless by disaster.

Rotarian David Glover, Rotary Liaison Officer, said: ‘We monitor all 1,845 Rotary Clubs within the United Kingdom. It truly is quite outstanding that the Isles of Scilly have achieved this. At ShelterBox, we would like to express our thanks to the club’s members and the community in which it works for the outstanding work they have done in raising so much.’
