In 2008, ShelterBox sent a further 584 boxes help with the humanitarian crisis currently affecting Swaziland. Swaziland has the highest HIV and Aids prevalence rate in the world leaving the average life expectancy at just 31. This has resulted in thousands of orphans who are homeless.
ShelterBox sent 214 boxes in January and 370 in August 2008 to help families affected by the humanitarian crisis.
